Back Pain & Herniated Discs

Many people who apply for disability benefits suffer from chronic back pain which can limit their ability to sit, stand, walk, lift and bend.  When you file a claim for back pain, the Social Security Administration looks to see what the cause of the back pain is and whether it can be successfully treated.  The Social Security Administration also considers your age, education and past work experience to determine if there is work you can do. The older you are, the more likely you are to qualify for disability benefits when your primary disability is related to back pain.

We find it useful to ask family or friends to provide statements about the change they see in your day to day activities because of your continuing struggle with back pain.
